Since the Spotify client didn&#8217;t work natively I&#8217;ve used it in the browser since. But, the Spotify web player wouldn&#8217;t always show up as a device running Spotify which required me to start a VNC session and reload the tab which I really do not want to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, I started looking into the native application again, experiencing issues like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>All songs showing as greyed out<\/li><li>When clicking a song: Spotify can&#8217;t play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.<\/li><li>The same error would show if I try to control it from another device<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve looked for solutions everywhere and none worked, or I wasn&#8217;t able to understand how these solutions could be applied (like the &#8220;qt4-bin&#8221; or changing the internet check in \/etc\/NetworkManager\/NetworkManager.conf).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Snap, the solution!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>sudo snap install spotify<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then it hit me.. The Spotify client is available in the snap directory as well, and my installation already supports Snap. So, let&#8217;s give that a try!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After removing the Spotify client (<code>sudo apt remove spotify-client<\/code>) and re-installing via Snap (<code>sudo snap install spotify<\/code>) it worked immidiately!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now let&#8217;s hope that it keeps working..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/snapcraft.io\/spotify\">https:\/\/snapcraft.io\/spotify<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My office server is connected to a monitor and a soundbar and is used as the main audio player for the office.
