Looking for a Sketchup Extension Developer? You came to the right place! I develop plugins for Sketchup that allow you to send sketchup files and generated images to the cloud. These plugins can be added to the Trimble Warehouse, or downloaded from your own website. Or, if you rather keep them private or just for your office, then that of course is an option too.
The stages of development
Developing a Sketchup extension is not as straight-forward as you might think it is. Let’s have a look at the several stages involved in the development of the plugin
Stage 1: Idea and discussions
Let’s start here. What’s your idea, and what is the goal of the plugin? We’ll start with a video meeting to get into the specifics to figure out if it’s possible and what the approach should look like. We’ll discuss the plan as well: Can we develop it in one go, or in several phases?
Stage 2: Wireframing
To confirm we’re on the same path and our expectations of the end result are the same I’ll make wireframes of the functionality of the extensions and potentially the look and feel of the online platform connected to it.
Stage 3: Development
This is where the fun begins! The development of the plugin – we’ll keep in close connection and I’ll make sure to provide you with test builds during the whole process. This way we can always verify that we’re still heading in the right direction (even though stage 2 kind of eliminates the need for that)
Stage 4: Let’s go live!
We’ll either submit the extension to the Trimble Extension warehouse or publish it on your website for visitors to download.. Free, or behind a paywall! Of course – we can largely skip this step is the extension is made for internal use.
